Raúl Pérez continues to amaze us. Despite his extensive career and numerous achievements, the Wizard of Bierzo persists in innovating and exploring new avenues. His latest discovery: Raúl Pérez Rapolao RP. 
 
Once again, Raúl Pérez turns to El Rapolao, the renowned plot of ancient vineyards situated in Valtuille de Abajo, within Villafranca del Bierzo, León. The enchantment of these 1.5 hectares, with vines dating back to between 1920 and 1980, has been well established. Could it be the sandy, calcareous soils that draw Raúl Pérez back, or perhaps the continental climate with its Atlantic influences?
 
Regardless, what is evident is the love and reverence the winemaker holds for this family estate. All vineyard practices are performed manually, ensuring utmost respect for the environment and the surrounding ecosystem. The same philosophy is upheld in the winery, where Raúl Pérez Rapolao RP is vinified with minimal intervention, utilizing spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. 
 
Raúl Pérez's journey with wine began quite early—and by chance—at the tender age of 19. Much time has passed since then, time enough for him to have brought us considerable joy. Now, the latest chapter in this saga is headlined by Raúl Pérez Rapolao RP, a new red wine with which Pérez once again triumphs.

Raúl Pérez Rapolao RP 2020 is unveiled with understated elegance, where spices interweave with the vibrancy of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry. Olfactorily, the spiced notes are balanced with a hint of wild herbs, creating a harmonious bouquet.
