About Rimarts Reserva Especial Chardonnay

Rimarts Reserva Especial Chardonnay is a Gran Reserva sparkling wine from the D.O. Cava (Catalonia) made with the Chardonnay variety by the Rimarts winery in the Penedès region.
 
The name Rimarts is an acronym formed by the name Ricard Martínez de Simón, the father of the winery’s current owners, who are brothers Ricard and Ernest. This pair are now carrying the legacy of producing high-quality cavas by hand. They own a small winery in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and produce a rich variety of sparkling wines using a high-quality base wine and a long and careful aging process.
 
Rimarts Reserva Especial Chardonnay is a sparkling wine made entirely with the Chardonnay variety. The vines are cultivated in the Penedès region using environmentally-friendly agriculture so as not to alter the natural balance of the terroir. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness. 
 
In the winery, the Rimarts Reserva Especial Chardonnay grapes are first destemmed and pressed and the resulting must is fermented to produce a quality base wine. The wine is bottled to begin a second fermentation and it is finally left to rest for a minimum of 50 months in the cellar before being sold. 
 
Rimarts Reserva Especial Chardonnay is the result of a craftsmanship that is reflected in each bottle, with the date of manual disgorging listed on each label. A long-aged limited production.
 
2018

Rimarts Reserva Especial Chardonnay 2018 is a cava with a creamy and fresh profile. On the nose, it reveals aromas of green apple and peach, with a subtle hint of citrus. On the palate, its fine and well-integrated bubbles combine with balanced acidity, leaving a smooth and pleasant sensation. Perfect for those seeking an elegant and easy-to-enjoy cava.
2014 Rimarts Reserva Especial Chardonnay 2014 is a Gran Reserva sparkling wine with very fine and persistent bubbles. On the nose it reveals intense aromas of tropical fruit combined with notes of aging. On the palate it is fresh, fruity and very balanced. A cava with well-integrated acidity and a very fruity aftertaste.
