About Yllera Sauvignon Blanc

When we speak of the D.O. Rueda, we inevitably think of the verdejo variety, which, thanks to its freshness, aromatic intensity, and attractive price, has become an essential at the table, especially during summer. However, this Valladolid denomination is not limited to verdejo alone. A clear example of innovation and international projection in Rueda is found in Grupo Yllera. Since 1970, this family has not only elevated verdejo but has also successfully explored other varieties that reflect the richness and versatility of this denomination. With a notable commitment to excellence, today the 6th generation, led by Carlos and Marcos Yllera, continues to offer wines with an outstanding quality-price ratio and a distinctive character.

This is exemplified in Yllera Sauvignon Blanc, a white wine of the sauvignon blanc variety from the “La Capitana” estate. The vines are traditionally cultivated and harvested at night using machines to prevent the fruit from oxidising or fermenting in the day's heat. In the winery, the selected, destemmed, and pressed grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation at controlled temperatures with native yeasts. Afterwards, the wine ages on its lees for 3 months before bottling.

The result is a wine that embodies the perfect balance between tradition and innovation, characteristics that define Grupo Yllera. Yllera Sauvignon Blanc astonishes with its freshness, elegance, and complexity, offering a unique experience that evokes the essence of D.O. Rueda beyond verdejo.
