Tasting notes Judith Beck Ink 2023
Red wine Aged in wood Biodynamic, Natural and Vegan. 8 meses en barricas de roble.
Judith Beck Ink 2023 is a light and delectably juicy red wine, with crisp aromas of cherries, plums, and an elegant hint of kirsch, enveloped in floral notes and a very fresh spicy touch. On the palate, it feels lively and medium-bodied, with a silky texture and soft tannins that make it easy to enjoy from the first sip. A wine with an inviting freshness that encourages relaxation and a slightly saline finish that leaves an impression of honesty and vibrancy.

About Judith Beck Ink
The Viennese say “ein Achtel” when ordering a casual drink at the tavern. This spirit of easy-going drinking—without decanting, without solemnity—inspires the easy-drinking range of Judith Beck in Burgenland. “Drinking should provide immediate pleasure,” the winemaker often says, and her Ink achieves this with the boldness of someone doodling in a notebook with a freshly opened marker: vibrant colour, clear strokes, zero complications.
Judith was born among the vines, but before taking over the family estate in 2004, she honed her skills in Bordeaux, Piedmont, and Chile. She returned to Gols with two certainties: biodynamic farming would best honour her 15 hectares, and the indigenous varieties—especially blaufränkisch and sankt laurent—would tell the story of the place better than any outsider. Today, 85% of the estate's vines are red and are cultivated without herbicides; the vineyard is a living mosaic of insects, ground cover, and much patience.
Judith Beck Ink takes its name from the English “ink” because that's the first thing it suggests when it hits the glass. Made predominantly from the blaufränkisch variety with a touch of zweigelt, it comes from gravel and marl soils. The harvest, done by hand, arrives at the winery in small crates. Fermentation starts naturally, with the yeast from the skins, in steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine rests for 2 months in large acacia vats, completes malolactic fermentation, and is transferred to neutral barrels of 500-1000 L where it matures for another 8 to 10 months. Finally, without fining or filtering and with a minimal touch of sulphur, it goes straight into the bottle.
The result is Judith Beck Ink, a red wine that confirms its creator's maxim: wine, pleasure, and zest for life go hand in hand. So when your life needs a splash of colour, here is ink in abundance.

| 2022 | Judith Beck Ink 2022 presents itself with a dark ruby hue edged with violet highlights, inviting one to delve into its lively essence. On the nose, it unfolds a symphony of fresh aromas where sour cherries prevail, complemented by warm spices such as cinnamon and cloves, evoking a cosy and intriguing sensation. Upon tasting, its juiciness is felt on the palate, accompanied by soft tannins that caress the mouth, while a subtle spicy note lingers in the aftertaste. This wine stands out for its light and fruity character, ideal for those seeking a fresh red brimming with personality. |
