About Luzón Origen Garnacha

Luzón Origen Garnacha is a red wine of the Garnacha Tintorera variety produced by the Luzón Winery in the D.O. Jumilla (Murcia).

Although Bodega Luzón has been in business since 1916, the truth is that there is a before and after, since the Fuertes Group entered the project in 2005. This was a boost that provided the winery with more than 12,000 sq. metres of constructed floorspace, and where tradition and innovation join efforts to achieve wines with a strong personality.

Luzón Origen Garnacha is made with the Garnacha Tintorera variety: a grape that comes from strains that are over 40 years old planted in limestone soil and harvested at their optimum moment of ripeness.

Once in the cellar, the Luzón Origen Garnacha grapes are transferred to a cold room for 48 hours at 8ºC. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in contact with their skins for 10 and 12 days at a controlled temperature no higher than 28ºC. It then undergoes ageing for 8 months in French and American oak barrels.

2020

Luzón Origen Garnacha 2020 is a richly concentrated red, boasting a deep cherry hue, with remarkable intensity. Olfactorily, it is exceptionally expressive and multifaceted, exuding scents of dark fruits (blackberries, cherries, licorice) alongside hints of mint. On the palate, it presents as well-rounded and dense, robust, with mature, well-defined tannins, and substantial body. The finish is extensive and enduring.
2017 Luzón Collection Garnacha Tintorera 2017 is a red wine with aromas of ripe red fruit, and with touches of toasted aromas. On the palate it is juicy, fresh and persistent.
