Celler del Roure Maduresa 2023 is a red wine with a complex and expressive bouquet, where ripe red and black fruit intertwines with spices such as pepper and nutmeg, subtle toasty notes, and a mineral and balsamic undertone that imparts character. On the palate, it enters smoothly yet with body, balancing ripeness and freshness with a very elegant naturalness. Its well-integrated tannins provide texture without dominating, leaving a long and fluid finish, like an unhurried conversation that lingers. About Celler del Roure Maduresa

Maduresa is a red wine produced by the Celler del Roure winery in Moixent, D.O. Valencia.
 

 

Celler del Roure is a family-run winery that was founded in 1996, with 20 hectares of their own vineyards. They soon acquired 40 hectares more in Serra Grossa, in the region of Les Alcusses. All their vineyards are cultivated organically, and they have had certification since the 2016 harvest.

Since 2009, the current owner of Celler del Roure, Pablo Calatayud, an agronomy engineer by training, has focused on recovering varieties native to the area, such as Mandó or Arco, and returning to the old vinifications in earthenware jars (tinajas) that were so commonly used in the Mediterranean area. His goal is to thus complement their line of wines, where we can find the widely known Maduresa and Les Alcusses.
 

 

From the 2016 vintage, Maduresa took a U-turn and began to be produced only with the native varieties Monastrell and Cariñena. From vineyards located at an altitude of 550 meters on sandy loam soils.

The grapes are harvested by hand and placed in 15 kg boxes. Once in the cellar, and after a partial destemming, they macerate for 15 days. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with local yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new and used French oak barrels where the wine remains for 12 months.

Celler del Roure Maduresa 2022 unveils an intense cherry red hue in the glass. Upon approaching the nose, one can detect a subtle aromatic whirlwind, featuring notes of black fruits such as blackberries and blueberries. On the palate, it stands out for its freshness and a remarkable intensity reminiscent of its previous vintage. 2018 Maduresa 2018 is a concentrated wine with powerful aromas of ripe red fruit, delicious toasted notes and a touch of minerality. On the palate it is deep and very Mediterranean. It has a pleasant entrance, a voluminous mid-palate and a persistent finish.
2017 Maduresa 2017 is a deep and very sincere Mediterranean wine. This vintage displays all the character of the Monastrell and the rusticity of the Cariñena. A powerful nose, with aromas of ripe red fruit, light toasted notes and a touch of minerals. A pleasant entry on the palate, good volume and more lively than other vintages.
2009 A very enjoyable wine with flavours that are similar to the nose. Noticeable acidity which adds freshness. Sweet and fleshy tannins. Appetising and elegant on the palate. Very well integrated notes from the wood. A warming and expressive Mediterranean wine.

2005 Medium-bodied with excellent acidity, firm, sweet and fleshy tannins that have softened, showing good development and a remarkable length. A Mediterranean-style wine, warm and expressive, that currently benefits greatly from proper aeration.

Deep cherry color with violet hues, full-bodied, clear and luminous.

It boasts aromas of red and black fruits: strawberry, raspberry, plums, complemented by elegant floral notes (violet).
