About Parés Baltà Calcari

Pares Balta Calcari is a white wine from Penedès produced by the Pares Balta winery. It is a varietal Xarelo.

The grapes come from the Finca Pares Balta, which is situated at 254 metres in altitude and the soils are calcareous and clay-loam.

The vineyards are biodynamic and have the Demeter certification, cultivation is done organically under the seal of the Catalan Council of Ecological Agricultural Production (CCPA). In fact, the fertilizer is obtained from a flock of sheep owned by the estate and pollination occurs with the bees from the winery's hives.

Once the grain is harvested and selected, a maceration that lasts about four hours occurs. Subsequently, the grapes are pressed and fermented at 16 ° for a period of three weeks. Pares Balta Calcari finally is aged for four months in stainless steel tanks. This is done using their method and daily movement.

Pares Balta is a family winery dating back to 1790.

The warehouse is run today by the third generation of the family and one of its hallmarks is respect for the environment.

2023

Calcari 2023 is a white wine with a very pale straw-yellow hue, clear and transparent. On the nose, it is notable for its varietal intensity, where aromas of ripe, almost candied pear and banana are combined, alongside subtle creamy notes derived from the work with fine lees. On the palate, it surprises with a volume that contrasts with its freshness, evoking memories of a pear Tarte Tatin over a base of crème anglaise, all with a well-defined and balanced profile.

2021

Calcari 2021 is a white wine that exhibits a pronounced varietal identity, presenting a straw-yellow hue that is exceptionally pale (almost translucent). The bouquet artfully melds ripe pear with banana and creamy undertones. On the palate, it is vibrant, boasting both substance and structure. It offers flavors reminiscent of pear tarte tatin drizzled with custard.
2014 Elegant and balanced. Very good acidity, fresh and structured.

Pale yellow straw colour.

Medium intensity, touches of pear and banana.
2011 In the mouth, the same sensations noticed in nose are felt. This wine has a very light and fresh mid palate and coats the palate with notes of fruit which are very well balanced with its good acidity. Good, very mineral finish. A soft, silky and elegant wine.

Very clean, bright and limpid pale straw yellow color.

Medium intensity aromas in which the notes of white fruit and flowers stand out along with hints of citrus on a very mineral background. Elegant and fresh nose.
2010 Very fresh and tasty wine with a good attack and a slightly glyceric mid palate, full of exotic fruit, some creamy notes and an excellent acidity that freshens it. Good finish with some light bitter hints.

Nice but not very intense straw-yellow colour. Very clean and bright wine.

Fresh and seductive nose in which the notes of ripe white fruit, exotic fruits and citrus are gracefully mixed. Its nice creamy touches and subtle mineral notes complete this wine.
2009 Very fresh wine with a rich mid palate, with fruit notes typical of its variety. Creamy and light.

Very pale straw yellow. Clean and bright.

Remarkably elegant varietal nose that combines the most mature white fruit (pear) with tropical and citrus fruits. Mineral notes and creamy sensations provided by the fine lees. 
2008 Mouth with volume despite its freshness, it fills us with memories of a Tatin pear tart with English cream background.
