Castro Ventonsa is a family winery where Raúl Pérez, the most current oenologist on the Spanish wine scene, began his career in viticulture. Situated in Valtuille de Abajo, a small town in Bierzo surrounded by viticulture, the winery produces excellent wines using the local Mencía and Godello varieties, which grow from old vines. Castro Ventosa is a winery that breathes the tradition and heritage of the Pérez family, a family that began to produce wines at the end of the 18th century and have transfered knowledge and skills down the generations. This is an authentic and sincere winery, which has managed to catch the attention of the most famous international wine critics, as showen in the scored awarded for their wines.
