About Viña Pomal Ecológico

The 17 hectares certified as organic of Bodegas Bilbaínas are the origin of Viña Pomal Ecológico, a traditional and respectful red wine that perfectly embodies the essence of the DOCa. Rioja. Located in the village of Haro, the tradition and expertise passed down through several generations cultivate the Tempranillo that gives soul to this wine, the only organic one in the family. Manual harvesting and artisanal work are the utmost expression of an endeavour centred on the environment, its care, and optimal management, aiming to achieve maximum benefits with the minimal footprint possible. 
 
In the winery, following the harvest, Viña Pomal Ecológico is destemmed and crushed, ready to be transferred to the fermentation tanks where it will acquire its full essence. From there, after the appropriate period of yeast activity, Viña Pomal Ecológico is racked and pressed, separating the solid parts from the liquid, which will then be transferred to new American oak barrels where it will rest for approximately half a year.
 
Viña Pomal Ecológico is a red wine with a conscience, deep roots, and wood as its protagonist. Organic? Yes. Delicious? Indeed. Would you have it again? Without a doubt.
